Cyber ​​Fraudsters are emptying customers' bank accounts through UPI scam; ICICI Bank issued warning
Cyber fraudsters create SMS forwarding apps, which send UPI device binding messages to the customer's bank linked mobile number for registration.
ICICI Bank has warned all its customers about the 'new UPI app' scam. This warning has been issued for those using online banking and especially various UPI apps. The bank said in an email sent to its customers that cyber thugs are targeting the UPI app with the help of malware and making money go missing from the accounts.

Fraudsters maliciously send links to APK files through WhatsApp. After this the fraudsters start the UPI application registration process. As soon as you click on the link sent by them, your bank account is emptied.
Do not install suspicious apps
Keep mobile devices updated with the latest operating systems and security patches.
Install apps from trusted sources like Google Play and Apple App Store.
Install antivirus/security software from a trusted provider. Don't click on suspicious links in emails or messages. Avoid downloading unknown apps.
