The announcement of  fare hike of Taxi and Autorickshaw in Delhi will be helpful to  Revving Up the Meter. The Delhi administration has announced a rate increase for autorickshaws and taxis. The increase in rates will only apply to black and yellow taxis and autorickshaws not on Ola and Uber as they are private cab aggregators.

Decision to hike in rates was made by the Delhi government Cabinet in October last year, the fare has now been announced with the consent of Delhi L-G. The existing rates were harming auto and taxi drivers because of the spike in CNG rates over the last three years.

New Autorickshaw fare detail:

The starting fare for the first 1.5 kilometre will be Rs 30 in compare to Rs 25 earlier. Each subsequent kilometre will be Rs 11. There is a change in Charges for extra luggage also from from Rs 7.5 to Rs 10. But Night charges and waiting charges remain the same.

New faxi fare Detail:

The fare for the first kilometre will be Rs 40 which was Rs 25 for both AC and non-AC taxis. And further each additional km will cost Rs 17 for non-AC taxis and Rs 20 for AC taxis. respectively. And the waiting charges will go up from Rs 30 per hour to Re 1 per minute, and that for luggage will now be Rs 15.
