For the Lok Sabha Elections 2024, BJP and its allies have entered the electoral fray with the slogan 'beyond 400'. BJP's attempt to return to power with an overwhelming majority for the third consecutive time seems to be hinged on a few issues, the biggest issue of which is that of Ram Mandir. The issue of Ram Temple has been included in the BJP's agenda for years. Ram temple has been built and the party is also busy capitalizing on this issue. Prime Minister Narendra Modi had consecrated the Ram temple on January 22 this year. At the same time, many opposition parties had distanced themselves from this function. In such a situation, the question is being asked that how effective will the issue of Ram Temple and Hindutva be for BJP and NDA? An attempt has been made to find the answer to this question through CSDC and Lokniti pre-poll survey (CSDS-Lokniti 2024 pre-poll survey).

Many shocking things have come to light in the survey of CSDC and Lokniti. The survey revealed that 8 out of 10 Hindus accept religious pluralism and only 11 percent see India for Hindus. Surprisingly, 81 percent of the youth are giving priority to diversity compared to 73 percent of the older generation.

Questions regarding nepotism were also asked in the survey. 25 percent people considered BJP to be less nepotistic than Congress and 24 percent considered it to be as nepotistic as Congress. Whereas 15 percent did not consider BJP as nepotistic at all and 36 percent did not give their opinion on it at all.

Ram temple and Hindu identity, got this answer

In the survey, people were asked whether Ram Temple has strengthened Hindu identity. Regarding this, 48 percent believed that Ram Temple has helped in strengthening the Hindu identity, while 25 percent said that it has not had much impact. Whereas 24 percent have not given any reaction on this.

54 percent Hindus accepted that the construction of Ram temple will help in strengthening the Hindu identity, while 25 percent Hindus said that it will not have much impact and 18 percent did not give their opinion. Whereas 24 percent Muslims agreed that this has strengthened the Hindu identity, 21 percent denied it and 50 percent did not give their opinion on it. Among other minorities, 22 percent accepted that it strengthened the Hindu identity, 36 percent denied it, and 30 percent did not answer.

34 percent said it was a good step

34 percent called the abrogation of the provisions of Article 370 a good step, while 16 percent called it a good step but said that it was not done properly and 8 percent called it a bad step. 22 percent did not give their opinion and there were 20 percent who were not even aware of it.

Unemployment, rising inflation are important election issues

CSDS-Lokniti's pre-poll survey has revealed that issues like unemployment, rising inflation, corruption and deteriorating economic condition of the people are important issues for the voters in the Lok Sabha elections. The public will vote on these issues only.

CSDS-Lokniti has conducted a survey on how easy or difficult it is to get jobs at present compared to the last five years. 62 percent of the people surveyed believe that it has become difficult to get jobs at present compared to the last five years. Also, 18 percent people believe that it is equally difficult or easy to get jobs even today compared to the last five years. That means there has been no change.

The interesting thing is that 12 percent people believe that it is easier to get jobs now than before. That is, almost two-thirds of the people believe that it has become difficult to get a job during the last five years of the Modi government.

59 percent people took the side of farmers

In the survey, people were asked about the march of farmers of Punjab to Delhi. 63 percent of the farmers surveyed believe that it is right for the farmers to protest for their genuine demands. Whereas 11 percent farmers believe that this was a conspiracy against the central government. It is surprising that 12 percent of the people surveyed were not even aware of the farmers' movement.
